They rolled mom into the OR at 12:15pm today, July 2nd. She was in good spirits and ready to go. We had a few good laughs before she went in, mostly laughing about the ridiculous outfit she was wearing. The pants were meant for a 400 pound dude and she had tights under it.
Dr. Dodsen said that they would do about 45 minutes of pain management prep then start. He said that he could take 3-6 hours depending on what he finds.
Prayers that he gets it all, it goes quickly and there aren't any surprises. Will update when she is out!
A friend of mine was on "team Karen". From the sounds of it, they had a schedule for friends to be w her in the hospital. That way she was rarely alone. I think they also rotated taking & being w her during infusions of chemotherapy. Don't know what her program will be, but if there could be a schedule, I certainly would sign up for "love lolly" detail!
